Dances are choreographed to an urban beat.

Creative Movement:

These primary classes introduce young dancers to ballet technique appropriate for their age.  They develop musicality, rhythmical awareness and movement vocabulary that is the basis for self-expression in dance.  Close attention to proper skeletal alignment and muscle development ensures correct dance technique.  Our goal for this beginning program is to develop a joy of movement with basic dance motor skills.

Performances:

Early ballet training at DF concentrates on the development of proper technique and focus – recognizing that bad habits, once learned, can be vary hard to break.  Parent  Observation day will be held the last class before Christmas break.

Dance Fredericton’s yearly gala performance is a chance to showcase student progress. Our talented artistic staff painstakingly choreographs the dance pieces.  Performance gives the student a focus to work toward and is great fun!

Shows are professionally videotaped so that families can purchase DVDs and dancers can perform without the distraction of flash bulbs.

Performance Ensemble:  Dance Fredericton’s Performance Ensemble dances within the community several times throughout the year.  The performing group explores all disciplines of dance within the choreography.  Students registered in at least 2 level 4 classes are eligible for performance ensemble.
