Winter 2009

What a winter…spring will be here soon!!!!!

News from Dance Fredericton:

Congratulations to Paige Powell for being accepted to the Royal Winnipeg Summer School!  This summer program acts as an additional auditions process for the full year pre professional school.  Marie Claire Wasson has been short listed for this summer programs as well.  DF wishes both ladies great success!

Nutcracker 2008!   What a great show.

Twenty of our talented dancers started the process during a very hot week in August.  Johanne Gingras from the RWB was here to set three new pieces of choreography for our “NUT”.  These dancers continued to rehearse all fall for the December 5 show.  Erin Brennan and Jesse Fraser , students from the RWB professional school arrived in Fredericton on Thursday Dec 3.  Erin preformed the Lilac Fairy third act variation and Jess a male variation from Le Corsaire as well as The Grand pas de deux from the Nutcracker.  They  truly delighted the audience as well as the dancers back stage!  David Moroni  was so generous with his time  and knowledge during his informance, and the DF troop was very polished in their performance.  DF received funding from Fredericton Community Foundation, City of Fredericton and Investors Group Financial Services.   Check out  the pictures in our dressing area.

Nutcracker Summer School 2009:  Mark these dates on your calendar August 27th through September 2.  Johanne Gingras will be here to conduct a summer program and work on our Nutcracker.  What a great opportunity for our dancers!  More details to follow!

Exams    Ten dancers will be traveling to Rothesay Ballet School the later part of April to do their Royal Academy exams.  Break a leg ladies!
