Greetings from the Board of Directors:
On behalf of the Board of Directors of Dance Fredericton Danse Inc., I’d like to welcome you all to another dance season! I'm so looking forward to seeing all the excited students fill the studios again. I feel so fortunate that Dance Fredericton is here in our community providing professional instruction in a variety of dance forms. Thank you to our wonderful teachers and accompanists who provide students the opportunity to experience the joy of dance as performance art in a creative and positive environment. As a non-profit organization, parent volunteers are very important to our year-end production. But did you also know there are other opportunities to volunteer? The volunteer Board of Directors seeks new members each year, our Nutcracker performance continues to grow and will need more help as we move forward. You may have noticed the new colour as you enter the studio – thank you to the parents and dancers who braved the heat and humidity to put a fresh face on our entry. If you have fabulous suggestions and/or would like to assist, please call the studio or e-mail me at levist@nbnet.nb.ca.
I’d just like to add a quick note about our Nutcracker project. The renowned Christmastime fairy-tale ballet has enthralled audiences world-wide. Over the last few years, Dance Fredericton has been growing its own annual ballet and the goal is to ensure that Fredericton has its very own Nutcracker tradition, with ballerinas of all ages, dancing alongside soloists of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet to present a true community production of world-class caliber. The project has been generously supported by the City of Fredericton and the Fredericton Community Foundation. Please help support this legacy project with your purchase of many tickets for this year’s performances.
Wishing you all a wonderful dance year! Germaine Pataki-Thériault, President, Board of Directors, DF
