Junior School Recital :  Canada 150 - Celebrate our diversity

2:00pm- Come Celebrate the cultural makeup of Canada with Dance
Fredericton's youngest dancers.  Our Junior recital showcases our young
dancers, some of whom aretaking to the stage for the first time.  Enjoy an
afternoon of sweet faces, beginning steps and all that makes our country the
best country in the world!
 

"An Education in Dance"
7:30pm - Dance Fredericton is pleased to present "An Education in Dance" - a
lecture/ Demonstration with narration by David Moroni, the founding director
of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School.    Watch and learn while our senior
students go through the rigors of a class.  The second portion of the
program will highlight our senior and competitive dancers in a polished and
professional presentation.    This evening of dance will be both educational
and enjoyable!

 

Summer Intensive with Janie Richard

Dance Fredericton is pleased to be hosting Janie Richard again this summer!!!  This intensive is for the Intermediate/Advanced student

 Janie Richard was born in Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada, andbegan dancing at 3 years old. She received a professional training at the École Supérieure de Ballet Contemporain in Montreal. 

She worked with various international choreographers like Alejandro Alvarez (Nacho Duato), Hélène Blackburn, Christophe Garcia, Mario Radacovsky, Shawn Hounsell, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Claude Caron, Geneviève Dorion-Coupal and Edouard Lock.  She participated in several tours in Europe, North and South America. 

Currently she’s working whit the company Cas Public in Montreal. She was invited as a principal guest dancer for The Intimate evening and for Sleeping Beauty with Syracuse City Ballet in NY last fall. She’s also part-time principal dancer for Ballet Ouest of Montreal for the show “Couples”, Nutcracker and Pinocchio. From 2010 to 2013 she danced as a soloist whit the Atlantic Ballet-Theatre of Canada in Moncton, New-Brunswick. She danced the Grand Pas of Nutcracker for the Tikiwake Dance Theater in St-John’s Newfoundland in December 2013. She was part of the distribution for the Nutcracker with the Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal in 2009 and 2008, as well as dancing for one season with ProArteDanza Dance Company in Toronto.  Furthermore, she danced for one season with the Gran Canaria Ballet in Spain in 2008. 

She’s also teaching ballet, contemporary and point shoes work full time at the Studio 360 and also for choreograph pieces around different dance schools in Montreal, Quebec city, New Brunswick and Newfoundland. She was just invited as a contemporary teacher for a workshop for Rock the Rhythm with the Dance teacher association of Newfoundland. 

From June 2013 to now she had the opportunity to be a judge for the several dance competition around Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick and Newfoundland.

 

Fairytale Camp 2017

Our popular Fairytale Summer camp will take place again this summer from June 26 - June 30 and July 31 - August 4.  Head Fairies this year will be Nancy Currie Maddox and Alexa Berkshire.  Fairytale selection will be a surprise:)  This very successful camp starts each day with a dance class followed by introduction and re-write of a  well known Fairytale.  Dancers create the entire production including choreography, set & costume design and direction.  The week is capped off by an in studio performance for invited guests.  Daily surprises are always a hit!!!  Reserve you spot soon as space is limited!

New Website!!!

Dance Fredericton is very pleased to Finally have our new website up and running.  This sure has been a process but we are finally here.  Our blog will be a place to highlight special events and regular activity at Dance Fredericton.  DF students are now in the "Work" term - working on competition choreography, working on exam preparation, working on recital choreography and trying to stay ahead of colds and "Snow days"  and dreaming of warmer days.  Our beautiful studio is alive with activity 6 days a week!
